ScanSnap and Evernote, a match made in heaven

I cannot begin to express my pleasure with the performance of the Fujitsu SnapSan iX500. I had previously read a review written by a teacher who is using it to go paperless. He is scanning documents to Evernote. After reading his review, I knew that I needed to get my hands on this scanner.

I have only used the scanner for four hours, and I am in love with it. It rapidly scans a stack of documents both front and back to a single PDF or multiple JPG files and places them in my Evernote inbox.

In four hours, I have turned piles of papers into searchable PDF files. I have turned all my handwritten notes into images so they are also searchable.

The scanner has a number of powerful features such as automatically ignoring blank pages, sending files to mobile devices, and searchable PDF files. I personally asked for this scanner because of its compatibility with Evernote. The colors are also perfect.

While I still have a long ways to go to become totally paperless, this scanner is making the job a whole lot easier. If you are an Evernote user, I would strongly recommend purchasing this tool if you have piles of papers squirreled away.

Note: This is another tool review that is part of Jane Hart’s 10 Tool Challenge.
