Always looking for tips and strategies for improving my writing speed and quality, I downloaded Write Better, Faster: How To Triple Your Writing Speed and Write More Every Day (Growth Hacking For Storytellers 1)* to my Kindle. Write Better, Faster was written by Monica Leonelle. This is not the first book written by Leonelle that I reported on. She also wrote Dictate Your Book: How to Write Your Book Faster, Better, and Smarter. Both books have been extremely helpful to my writing process. This book looked at her writing system as a whole. I will be taking a number of great tips with me.

After reading the Kindle version of WRITE, PUBLISH, PROMOTE: How to write a best seller, self-publish, and then keep selling it …*, I thought it was so useful, I just ordered a print copy to have as a reference as I write my book. Debrah Martin packed this informative book full of tips and resources to help budding writers get books published and sold. If you are a writer, especially if you are looking to self-publish, I would certainly recommend this book. 

Book review – Scrivener Superpowers: How to Use Cutting-Edge Software to Energize Your Creative Writing Practice

Over the past six months, I have been working on writing a book. The process was initially slow going but it has increased in pace due to a program called Scrivener. Scrivener is a wonderful program designed with the writing process in mind. However, Scrivener is not necessarily the most intuitive program. There are a lot of internal settings that must be adjusted. This is where Matt Herron’s book, Scrivener Superpowers: How to Use Cutting-Edge Software to Energize Your Creative Writing Practice, comes into play. In one reading, Herron helped me make sense of Scrivener leading to a published book.

If you are creating video content, writing a blog, posting on social media, or hosting a podcast, you need to read this book. I consider this a must reading for all the organizations and colleges I have been a part of. Ann Handley and C.C. Chapman have written ad easy to read yet, tip rich book on writing content for your different platforms.

Book Review: How to Blog a Book

If you have been following my posts, especially, my book reviews, you will notice that I am interested in improving my ability to generate written content. One of my goals is to write a book. Right now, I have six ideas percolating but I need to knock one out. I think I have tripped upon a method to help make this possible. It is based on Nina Amir’s book, How to Blog a Book: Write, Publish, and Promote Your Work One Post at a Time*.
